Why We Exist: The “Visibility Gap”
Science has a visibility problem. While there are over 10 million active researchers globally, recognition is often concentrated within a small circle of elite institutions in the Global North.
Brilliant researchers in emerging economies, specialized fields, or independent labs often go unrecognized despite producing high-impact work. SciRank Global closes this gap by using a purely algorithmic approach. We do not rely on surveys, reputations, or votes. We rely on data.
Our Data Foundation
We are proud to build upon the infrastructure of OpenAlex, the world’s most comprehensive open catalog of the global research system.
By indexing over 200 million author profiles and analyzing citation patterns across 500 million works, we create a level playing field. Our system normalizes data across disciplines, allowing a high-impact Physicist to be ranked with the same rigor as a high-impact Biologist.

We publish our methodology openly. Every ranking is derived from a clear formula balancing productivity (article count) and impact (citation count). There are no “black box” algorithms.

We recognize scientists from every corner of the globe. If your work is cited and driving progress, you deserve to be ranked, whether you are at Harvard University or a specialized institute in the developing world.
3. Integrity
The SciRank Global Registry is immutable for the certification year. We do not allow “pay-to-play” rankings. Inclusion in the index is strictly based on merit; certification is an optional recognition of that merit.
